The anime adapts the epic Heiki Monogatari, a remake of the classic Tale of Heike in a modern language. The epic tells the story of the sluggish war of the Taira clan and the Minamoto clan for taking control over Japan. The anime was announced in July, and episode 1 will be released on September 15, 2021, on various streaming platforms.
Heike Monogatari- The Heike Story Anime Plot
The anime will center around Biwa, a blind traveling musician in the 12th century, where the Taira Clan and the Minamoto clan fight each other from toe to toe to take control of Japan. She is gifted with the powers to see in the future. One day, she meets Taira no Shigemori, an heir of the Taira clan, and tells him a prophecy that can be a future changer for his clan.
Heike Monogatari- The Heike Story Anime Episodes Release Schedule
The Heike Story is airing from September 16, 2021, in advance before streaming in Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block in Winter 2022. However, a number of episodes in anime have not been disclosed yet by the production company. The opening song of Heiki Story is named “Hikaru Toki” (When the Light Shines). The rock band hitsujibungaku performs it.
